There are many ways for Micromouse to record their moving distance. The two commonly used methods are as follows:
1. Recording the number of column grooves: each increase in the number of grooves indicates an increase in the number of walking cells. Because the column groove is only 3mm, the change of sensor detection data is very little, so using this method requires very high sensor detection accuracy.
2. Record the distance of the motor: Micromouse records the number of pulses sent by the motor encoder, calculates the number of turns rotated, and then multiplies the wheel hub diameter to get the number of cells that Micromouse walks. In comparison, this method is relatively simple and accurate. TQD-Micromouse JM Ⅱ uses this method to obtain the current position coordinates.
