2023 'Qicheng Cup' AI Micromouse Competition Training Session Held Successfully

To further promote the development of discipline competitions for University students in Tianjin and create a intense atmosphere of learning and research. On September 19, 2023, the pre-competition training session of the 12th "Qicheng Cup" Tianjin College Students' Artificial Intelligence Micromouse Competition, which was hosted by the Tianjin Education Commission, organized by Nankai University, and sponsored by Tianjin Qicheng Science& Technology Co., Ltd., was held at Nankai University. More than 200 participating teachers and students from Nankai University, Civil Aviation University of China, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Tianjin Chengjian University, etc. participated in this training.

The training session kicked off amid the expectations of the teachers and students from the participating teams, and Helen, the director of the event from Tianjin Qicheng Science& Technology Co., Ltd., presided over the training session. Teacher Wang Zhihong from Nankai University delivered a speech on behalf of the hosting institution, stating that Nankai University has hosted the artificial intelligence micromouse competition for seven consecutive sessions. He expressed gratitude to the Higher Education Department of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission for its trust and support. The successful holding of the competition is inseparable from the sponsorship and support of enterprises. He thanked Tianjin Qicheng Science& Technology Co., Ltd. for providing technical service and equipment support for the competition for 12 consecutive sessions. Finally, he encouraged the participating teachers and students to be well-prepared and ready to strive for excellent results in the competition.

The technical analysis of the virtual simulation track in the training course attracted much attention. Engineer Chen Likao stated that applying cutting-edge technologies such as the new generation of information technology, virtual simulation, and artificial intelligence to education and competitions, using 3D virtual simulation technology to achieve the interaction between virtuality and reality, and interpreting the application of digital twin technology, can thereby realize the promotion of digital transformation and innovative development through disciplinary competitions.  

Since 2021, Qicheng has independently developed and designed the TQD-MicromouseOC v2.0 virtual simulation maze robot competition evaluation system based on the demands of the education market. It has deployed various functions such as multiple maze and robot 3D models, high-precision restoration of the platform, feature display, virtual operation training, etc., and achieved technologies such as multi-sensor fusion and intelligent algorithm verification. Participating in competitions on the virtual simulation maze robot track is not subject to restrictions of regions, time domains, environments, and other conditions. It is highly ornamental and has a high degree of simulation. It innovates the competition form in terms of the content and form of disciplinary competitions and builds a mixed competition model that combines online and offline, and integrates virtual simulation and real interaction.

Subsequently, Engineer Qiu Jianguo provided a detailed explanation of the software and hardware technologies, debugging methods, rule analysis, and precautions for the classical Micromouse track.

After the meeting, the instructors and participating students had close communication and interaction with enterprise engineers. Through discussions, exchanges of experience, question answering and other sessions, they gained a further and deeper understanding of the competition platform and event regulations. Teachers and students all expressed that they were grateful to Nankai University, the host institution, for providing a superior learning environment and precious learning opportunities. They were also grateful for the face-to-face technical training by enterprise engineers, which enhanced the students' ability to integrate theory with practice, laid a solid foundation for the participating contestants to achieve excellent results in the competition, and created favorable conditions for outstanding talents to stand out.
